Bye Angelina, Hello New “Hotter” Laura!

Alison Carroll is the new Laura Croft replacing the international elementary school that has become Angelina Jolie. Telegraph.co.uk states:

But Carroll has not landed a movie role – instead she will promote the new Tomb Raider video game, Underworld, which is released in November. Nell McAndrew found fame as the first Lara Croft model in the 1990s. Carroll will star in TV adverts and travel the world to meet Lara Croft fans.
Winning the role of Lara means Carroll can quit her job as a receptionist.
“This is a fantastic opportunity and I am really looking forward to embracing Lara’s world,” she said. “I still can’t believe they chose me to take on the role of Lara – and I can’t wait to get stuck in. This is my dream job. I have always wanted to be an action hero and hope to be able to use my gymnastic ability to perform all of Lara’s stunts.”

This bimbo already saved the world from us having to bare witness to Angelina’s face whenever we think tomb raider, but on top of that she is actually hot, shoots things, and runs around/jumps a lot. I have to give video game geeks some credit on this one.

GTA IV Niko is a crybaby

So I keep seeing this damn guy on the net in various areas, Michael Hollick. He’s the voice actor for the lead character Niko Bellic in the game Grand Theft Auto IV. Anyway he is crying about receiving only 100k for lending his voice to the character in the game. It’s claimed that he worked 15 months for this sum of money and believes he deserves more.

Okay lets do the math, $100,000 divided by 15 months is about 80k a year or $6800 a month. Now I have played the game and I highly doubt that the guy was in the studio on a 9 to 5 hour basis, 5 days a week for 15 months; the game just doesn’t have that much voice over’s included. This is a good income for this period of time; I mean really, who is this guy? Have you heard of him before this game? Does a voice actor deserve to earn a 6 figure income?

In my opinion it sounds like Michael Hollick worked what most Americans call… a job. Now given a voice due to the games popularity he wants to bank on the company’s success that they actually worked hard at to earn. This guy needs to get off his ass and see what developing a wide scale multimedia project is all about and judge what he deserves based on the work that actually goes into one as opposed to him talking into a mic. He didn’t make the game, why should he get paid for doing so. Go back to GTA III Rockstar and make the lead character voiceless, seems when they say nothing they are much less of morons in the end.

So the next gen video game consoles that have consumed the majority of the United States time for entertainment are being targeted by the group Greenpeace. They are being targeted not for their ability to steal your husband for days at a time, or for making you child antisocial, but rather for the toxic material they are mildly composed of. All three next gen consoles are un-green, testing positive for a variety of hazardous chemicals, including polyvinyl chloride (PVC), beryllium, bromine, and phthalates, as stated by Greenpeace. The Wii was the least toxic of the three so I guess it should get a prize…go Nintendo for only poisoning us a little.

I guess our Mother earth isn’t a gamer.

Duke Nukem lives

So its old news, but I just recently checked in on an old favorite video game hero and discovered that the latest installment is not dead. 3D Realms the developer of Duke Nukem 4ever (never, whatever…blah blah blah) released a trailer of a much updated version of the game back in December showcasing IMO a bad ass game, but is it worth a ten year wait for loyal followers of the bacon lovin’ hero, will duke indeed kick ass and chew bubble gum? Who knows, fact is who knows if its even coming out anytime soon, could be another 10 years…anyway here is the latest trailer.

World of Warcraft causes war in relationships.

We all know that video games are addictive, especially those on the P.C., but just how addictive are they? Here is a story how ever-popular, world of warcraft,, ruined this couple’s marriage. Joslyn and her husband were friends since age 13. They married at age 22 and remained in a loving relationship for 6 years. That is, before World of Warcraft came along.
Joslyn claims that her husband would play the video-game from the time he arrived home from work (6pm) and play until 3am! On weekends it was even worse, since he didn’t have to go to work, he was literally playing the game at every waking hour.

Joslyn bought this game for her husband for Christmas, and by that September, she had moved out of the house and began filing for divorce.

^ he was cheating on his wife with that girl. lol

I’m real, and you’re giving me up for a fantasy land. You’re destroying your life, your six year marriage, and you’re giving it up for something that isn’t even real.

Marriage wasn’t the only thing that was corrupted. Joslyn’s husband also fails to pay his bills, take care of himself, or his house.

What a shame. I guess the moral of this story is don’t buy your loved one any video games. Just kidding, just beware of World of Warcraft.
